The Maid and the Falls

The Maid and the Falls

How desperate were we to see this beauty?... 1pm, Sunday afternoon, 550 miles from home, 4 midterms to take by Thursday, and we were off to Canada. Melissa and Uche just got married (yeah!) in Buffalo, NY, and after the wedding festivities, we were planning to head across the border. Tire trouble kept us from getting to the Falls as we had planned on doing Saturday night, but we hoped we could still hop up on Sunday before heading home. The car was fixed and carried along a large bill with it, but nothing was going to stop us... not even the fact that we didn't know exactly how to get there. We just followed the signs, showed off our fancy schmancy passports to a rather unenthusiastic guard, and into Canada we went. The Falls were a sight to behold, a must see from the Canadian side. Click on the pic to see more of our adventure.
By the time we got home, it was early Monday morning and we had a lot to do. We did make it through the week, by God's grace. Speaking of, aren't the Falls a sight to behold?! We think God is pretty stinkin' amazing! Now we have a week to recover from our midterms and the long journey north AND get ahead in our classes. Enjoy God's creation and the wisdom he has bestowed on those smarty pants digital camera inventors who enable you to see through our lens.

Great shots! Looks like you had fun even though there was a bit of a chill in the air.

Great shots also. The falls are an amazing place. Hard to believe people go over in barrels. Also the current moves at an average of 28 miles per hour down the river to the falls.

That is a fairly fast pace, as far as rivers flow, you know.

I have been there and I can atest that the Canadian side is much better than the American side. The falls are so amazing. I wanted to just jump in...but thought better of it.

So glad you got to see them:)
