Ode to Carole King

On Friday morning around 5:41 am, I was awakened to find our entire house shaking. Ben was only awakened by me yelling, "Ben, the house is shaking! The house is shaking!" Half asleep, he rolled over just as I ran over to our bedroom window. Not sure what I was looking for, but rushed to the window I did. The drawn curtain revealed no answers, so I returned to bed. By this time, Ben was beginning to wake up. Not satisfied with returning to sleep without answers, I turned to our faithful local news station, WAVE3- if you know anything about them, they're into "Getting Results." Sure enough, just as I turned on the television we heard the answer to all of our wonderings: "that's right, folks, you've just felt an earthquake." This was Ben's first earthquake, although he was too tired to really rememeber it, and the second for me. Earthquakes in Louisville?! Weird. But true. Techtonic plate shifts can happen anywhere, according to my very intelligent, science-loving husband. Well, after a moment of contemplation, satisfied by the answers we'd received, we went back to bed.

Glad you all (3) are safe and no one was hurt. Techtonic plate shifts? I will have to look up that one.

This is crazy! ha ha! I'm glad it wasn't bad and that you guys are ok, but that sure does make for a funny story!
